Chris McCarthy - Lake Hawea Hunting Safaris

Matt took the opportunity to sit down with Chris McCarthy recently at the SCI show in Reno. While the majority of us are cooped up indoors and stuck painting the house (or similar mundane round home job) mid the COVID lockdown…during the roar, going a bit stir crazy. We thought this podcast might be a good listen. Heavy focus on free-range red stags in New Zealand; their history, their value, management, and future. Chris is a consummate professional guide outfitter who runs Lake Hawea Hunting Safaris, specializing in free-range Otago red stags, as well as traveling the world as a guide in his “off” season. If you’re passionate about red deer, this one is well worth a listen!
